We were the closest family possible. Our world was turned upside down on 05/03/09 when my best friend, the person I love most next only to our children, my sister Trina was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Her body gave out on her on 01/09/10 but she will ALWAYS be a part of our daily life and will continue to be in my posts. I started my blog to chronicle our daughter's international adoption from Guatemala and have continued to use it as a journal.

What you will find is my family trying to adapt to our new lives that were handed to us.

I HAVE IT!!!!!!

Quick post to let you all know that mom and I are catching a flight home tonight!!!! It went great! I have (almost) all the paperwork, will explain more tonight or tomorrow. It was sooooo worth the trip and our baby is almost ready for us! I'm using a pay computer at San Francisco airport and I'm getting bent over at .50 cents a minute with 10 minute minimum. I already checked people.com (had to see if I was missing any major news!) and thought I'd post really quickly here. I have 3 minutes left! Mom finally realizes why first class kicks so much butt!!!! Until later........ (a very happy and thrilled Cameo signing off!)

I'm off!!!

Just a quick post to say hi and that mom and I are leaving shortly. Thanks so much for all the good wishes from everyone. I hope if mom and I manage to make it to San Francisco ok that we don't end up in some sort of tragic/crazy/hilarious trolley accident! If you hear of two women on a run away cable car.... well.... assume it's us!

5 Things:

1. There's a FedEx/Kinkos only a block away from the Consulate so when Franz authenticates my paperwork, we can trot over there and express it to my agency in Boston!

2. Four (count 'em FOUR) Starwood hotels within 2 miles of the Consulate! Hello Starwood points!

3. My kick ass Bath and Body Works black quilted carryon that I just got and we're using.

4. First class

5. Cell phones. Trina told me to keep her informed and to call her every hour with updates, what we're waiting for, what Franz says so far, etc... I laughed and told her this was like labor! She agreed.

Until later........
