We were the closest family possible. Our world was turned upside down on 05/03/09 when my best friend, the person I love most next only to our children, my sister Trina was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Her body gave out on her on 01/09/10 but she will ALWAYS be a part of our daily life and will continue to be in my posts. I started my blog to chronicle our daughter's international adoption from Guatemala and have continued to use it as a journal.

What you will find is my family trying to adapt to our new lives that were handed to us.

Dancing!

Kerry posted a hilarious video clip from youtube about the history of dance which got me remembering my wedding reception in June. Norm and I got married at the courthouse in January (our 1 year anniversary is coming up this month, can't remember the date) and had a party in our backyard June to celebrate. I spent hours downloading music onto my iPod and we set up speakers outside so we could have music. I organized each song, putting all the "fun stuff" towards the end when everybody would be drunk and dancing. We turned out back deck into a dance floor and I think Norm and I had the best time, along with Drunk Cousin Caroline. That's her official name. My cousin Caroline is the funniest, coolest person and the only bummer is that she lives in California so I don't see her very often. Anyway, she got the name Drunk Cousin Caroline a few years ago when she got wasted at Trina's birthday party at a restaurant and was trying to go to the bathroom in the kitchen. Yeah, they kicked her out and Norm and Josh literally had to carry her out. I have pictures of that too. ANYWAY, I may regret this, but one of the songs on Kerry's video was "YMCA" and it reminded me of doing that dance at our reception. Well, not really reminded me because I don't actually remember doing it, but here is the picture to prove it.

Another song that stuck out for me was the Brady Bunch song. I was working with my best friend Amanda when the Brady Bunch movies came out and I was a huge fan of Brady Bunch. I actually memorized all the words AND MOVES to the song and would break out into song and dance in the middle of the day at the office, much to the chagrin of Amanda, who would sometimes be on the phone with a client, or trying to concentrate on an application or doing something else to ignore me. Of course it wouldn't work and it was akin to fingernails on a chalkboard. Needless to say, I did it quite often! No photographic proof of that though, thank God!

Anyway, a huge thanks to Kerry for starting off my day so great and with a smile! Until later....
