We were the closest family possible. Our world was turned upside down on 05/03/09 when my best friend, the person I love most next only to our children, my sister Trina was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Her body gave out on her on 01/09/10 but she will ALWAYS be a part of our daily life and will continue to be in my posts. I started my blog to chronicle our daughter's international adoption from Guatemala and have continued to use it as a journal.

What you will find is my family trying to adapt to our new lives that were handed to us.

PRAISE GOD!!!!!!! *******EDITED WITH BONE SCAN RESULTS********

BRAIN SCAN IS CLEAN!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!
Still waiting for the doctor to review the bone scan with her to tell her where exactly the cancer has spread there, but HER BRAIN SCAN IS CLEAN!!!!!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!
Mom just called with the bone scan results. Those aren't so great. The cancer is spreading very fast and she said it was hard to look at the bone scan and see the cancer where it wasn't before. It's pretty much everywhere, her back, shoulders, pelvis, etc.... BUT BUT BUT where her lymph nodes were full of it, the doctor can't find anything. He always said the lymph nodes would be the first indication as to whether or not the chemo was working. SO IT IS!!!! YAY!!!!!
I just got off the phone with sissy while I was writing this and she said she is doing much better than this morning. She stopped by before chemo and was crying, very tired, didn't want to do chemo today. She said she's feeling better today but looking at the bone scan was very scary and "daunting". But her spirits are much, much better!!!!
THANK YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!

Praise GOD!!! This is ANOTHER battle won in this war. A war that Trina WILL win - she is already kicking ass and taking names!! HOORAY for good-lookin' lymph nodes!!!

I can't imagine how frightening it is to see the cancer spreading in her bones like that - but she is going to kick all of that to the curb too! Next bone scan - CLEAN!

PTL indeed! That is fabulous news!!
Now what is the course of action for all this bone cancer? I have heard that aggressive cancers react much better to chemo (not sure why but thank God for that!!)
I am sure she is so tired, poor thing. Can't wait to get more good news, which I know is coming!
