We were the closest family possible. Our world was turned upside down on 05/03/09 when my best friend, the person I love most next only to our children, my sister Trina was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Her body gave out on her on 01/09/10 but she will ALWAYS be a part of our daily life and will continue to be in my posts. I started my blog to chronicle our daughter's international adoption from Guatemala and have continued to use it as a journal.

What you will find is my family trying to adapt to our new lives that were handed to us.

Hospital Update

The CT scans of sissy's liver won't be in until tomorrow morning. Luckily her oncologist has been there today but doesn't come in in the evening so he won't be reading them until tomorrow. He doesn't think it's an auto immune problem, i.e. her own blood cells attacking themselves, but they need to find out why her counts kept dropping even before she started chemo.

Trina hasn't been able to keep anything down today. They have transfused 1 unit of blood and may only do 1 more instead of 2. They are keeping her on IV fluids and are giving her a steroid. I talked to her briefly but she got tired after 2-3 sentences and had to hand the phone back to mom.

Joshua went home a couple of hours ago and will be back to do the "first shift" with sissy tonight, then mom will be back with her early tomorrow morning.

Trina is just miserable and so tired and just feels shitty.

In case anyone forgot......

Shocked to come on here and read the news. Sending major prayers Trina's way and loads of hugs your way.
