We were the closest family possible. Our world was turned upside down on 05/03/09 when my best friend, the person I love most next only to our children, my sister Trina was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Her body gave out on her on 01/09/10 but she will ALWAYS be a part of our daily life and will continue to be in my posts. I started my blog to chronicle our daughter's international adoption from Guatemala and have continued to use it as a journal.

What you will find is my family trying to adapt to our new lives that were handed to us.

Merry Christmas

I can't believe how great this picture turned out! I swear I have the cutest kids!
It's so bittersweet because I see how big they're getting and I just want to talk to sissy about them. We were supposed to raise our kids together. We had both waited until we were "older" to have kids and we had all these plans of what we were going to do. Every time we drove past the school we would always say "that's where Asa and Valentina are going to go to school! We can go pick them up together." All of these things that we were going to do are gone and I'm here without her and I can't believe it. I miss her so much and honestly do not know how we are doing this. It seems as if every day is worse. But these two children are the loves of my life.

They are so cute! Asa is a heartbreaker with those deep, dark eyes. Valentina looks so grown up here - love her skinny jeans and black jacket!

Cameo, I hope you know that you are amaing. I'm so sorry that Trina isn't here with you now.

Love the pic as always. Makes me think of the first pic. when she had just come home and right after the pic. she burst into tears. So glad she is used to Santa by now.
They are growing up so fast.
Love you and hope all is as well as it can be.

Oh Cameo~

I just love that picture of the 2 of them!!

From afar, I was like, who the heck is the 4th person in the picture, I then clicked on it, and OH it's his old ball and chain....Mrs. Claus.

I can't believe I just said that, I don't ever say that term for a chick. My friend Joe was over last night, and he says it...so he must have rubbed off on me =)

I hope you are doing OK. Well, I hope you are doing GREAT, but who knows when that will ever happen, right?

Love you!
